Pumpkin Patch

Connor's school went to the pumpkin patch last week and Cora and I got to tag along. The weather was perfect and it was fun to see Connor with all his school friends.

Going through the hay bale maze.

With one of his best buddies, Henry.

Having a seat:)

So, SO many pumpkins to choose from... Happy Picking!

Mummy Dogs

This was a fun little Halloween dinner we made last night. I had seen the idea in a magazine last year and forgot to try it. Chris came home and thought they were supposed to be little members of the Taliban though! These Mummy's probably fail on the nutritious dinner scale, but get an "A" for cuteness! It is the holiday season after all, right?!

To make them I just cut crescent roll dough into strips and wrapped it around turkey dogs. I used little sprinkles for eyes, I think they had used little pieces of olives, but I didn't have any. Follow the baking instructions on the crescent roll tube as far as temp. and time. Enjoy!

Halfway Hike

My friend Kristin and I attempted a late afternoon hike to Micah Mine with the kids. It was slow going with the little ones and we were worried about the sun going down (ummm...still not used to this fall daylight shortage!) so we turned back before we made it to our destination. Oh well, it was still a fun time with good company.

Connor on the initial descent...

Connor and Cora (yes, another Cora!) collecting rocks. Connor's backpack weighed about as much as he did by the time we got back to the car!

My friend Kristin and her little guy, Peter. Peter and my Cora are only two days apart!

Friends... too precious!!

Me and my little hikers:)

Mommy's Little Helper

Cora is a little whirlwind these days! I just can't keep up with the messes she makes, but I know she at least has fun making them!

Cleaning out the coat closet.

Messy eater!

Helping with laundry.

Organizing the bookshelf:)

Apple Fest

We went up to Cedaredge a few weekends ago to check out Apple Fest. It was a beautiful day and Connor found lots of fun things to do at the festival!

On the giant bungee trampoline! This kid is fearless!

Trying out the climbing wall.

We drove home through the Grand Mesa and the colors were just beautiful!

Cora Turns ONE!!!!

With lots of friends and family here to celebrate, I would say that Cora had a WONDERFUL first birthday. Chris's parents, Karen and Larry, and his sister, Heather, her hubby, Anthony, and their two girls, Sam and CeCe, came up from Arizona, and my parents and my brother Austin and his fiance Laura made it out as well. The weekend was jam-packed as usual...we like to squeeze as much fun in as possible!

As for Cora, we really can't believe she is one already. She is such a happy, sweet little girl. She loves music and animals, and of course, snuggling with her blankie and her babies. She walks around holding the furniture, but not quite on her own yet. I can tell she is going to be very cautious in this endeavor:) She loves to eat and play in the bath with Connor.

Here's to another amazing year, sweet baby girl!! We love you!

The Birthday Girl!

Chris's Mom made the cake again. Wonderfully done Grammy!!

Testing out her very own cup-cake.

First bite...

Mmmmm...

I think she's had enough!

Post-cake-in-the-hair bath!

Present time, but I think she preferred the tissue paper.

Checking things out.

Happy Birthday Cora!

Birthday Sandwich

Like I said... busy weekend...

Most of the group went on a hike to Devil's Kitchen and the Lemon Squeezer's over in the Colorado National Monument in the morning before the party. Then after the party, we all went to Bananas Funpark for some bounce house and batting cage action.

Chris, Karen, Heather, Connor and Sammy on the hike.

Fall Fest Parade

The Fruita Fall Fest is a fun festival that comes through here in September. This year, Connor's school had a float with a Western theme. Connor was thrilled to play the part as you can see...

Yee-Haw!

Ready for the parade.

Fun Times

Here are some pics of the kids and some of our wonderful family members who came to celebrate Cora's Birthday. This was all Saturday, after the parade. We had so much fun with all of you!
