Birthday Sandwich

Like I said... busy weekend...



Most of the group went on a hike to Devil's Kitchen and the Lemon Squeezer's over in the Colorado National Monument in the morning before the party. Then after the party, we all went to Bananas Funpark for some bounce house and batting cage action.

Fall Fest Parade

The Fruita Fall Fest is a fun festival that comes through here in September. This year, Connor's school had a float with a Western theme. Connor was thrilled to play the part as you can see...

Fun Times

Here are some pics of the kids and some of our wonderful family members who came to celebrate Cora's Birthday. This was all Saturday, after the parade. We had so much fun with all of you!

Cora's Birthday Dinner

One of our favorite restaurants to go to is Red Robin. We often go for a special occasions (I know, fancy, right?), we went there on Connor's first birthday and we kept with tradition and celebrated with Cora there for her first birthday. They brought her a birthday sundae, and boy did that make her night!! She was crazy about it and it was so funny to watch her indulge!

it didn't take long for her to dig in!


She couldn't get enough... even tried to lick the table clean!

Grand Lake

For my Birthday this year, we went up to Grand Lake and stayed in a little house/cabin with our friends, the Stock's. Their little girl, Ella, is about the same age as Connor and they just love each other! They also have a baby boy, Owen. It was so nice to get away, and although a bit hectic with 4 kids ages 3 and under, we managed to have some wonderful times together. We hope to make a tradition of it!

We saw a total of 5 moose (yes 5!), 4 deer, and a fox, all right off our cabin porch. It was so exciting and the moose are soooo huge in person! Chris got lots of great shots of them:) There had also been bear sightings all summer, thankfully we never ran into one of those!

Camping

Labor Day Weekend, we planned a nice, 3 day camping trip up to Ridgway. The first day started out good, but by bed time, it was a whole different story. To make a long, stressful story short, we ended up driving home in the middle of the night because Cora kept waking up crying, and we were worried that she was keeping everyone else awake. Luckily, Chris and Connor went back the next morning and finished out the trip, baby (and Mommy) free. Here are a few pics from our time. As usual, it was gorgeous scenery, and thankfully the weather was perfect.

These pictures are switched, but Connor actually caught his FIRST FISH on this trip! As you can see, he was not too thrilled to touch it or even look at it:( It was a little guy, so they had to throw it back, but still, Yay for Connor!
